Trump May Kick Establishment Media Out of White House Briefing Room

President-elect Donald Trump is considering rescheduling his White House press conferences, a move that could dry up the establishment media.

President Trump could use new media hosts such as Megyn Kelly or Joe Rogan to replace hostile traditional media outlets.

Donald Trump Jr. revealed the plan in a speech Monday podcast, The trigger was Donald Trump Jr.., with Michael Knowles.

Knowles said: “Caroline Leavitt is looking at the new press conference room chart. [if] Maybe it's time to rearrange that chart and steal some people's seats. ”

Trump Jr. responded, “I'm going to announce some news here,'' and continued, “Literally, we had this conversation — I got on a plane and came back, and I got on a plane with my father.'' I think he was on board and had just come back from a SpaceX launch with Elon. [Musk] last week. And we were talking about the podcast world and our friends and people like Logan and you. ”

He revealed that his father replied, “That's a great idea, Don.”

“So that could be something going on,” Trump Jr. added.

The White House briefing room has seating for only 49 accredited reporters. But while the White House controls who qualifies, the independent White House Correspondents Association decides who seats where.

During President Trump's first administration, he temporarily banned CNN's Jim Acosta from his briefing room. When CNN began a legal skirmish, the White House relented and Mr. Acosta returned to press conferences.

Podcasts are rapidly gaining traction, including a significant increase after President Trump left office. But the White House Correspondents' Association may not be as welcoming. new media into their crowd.

It is unclear whether Logan and Kelly are interested in attending the press conference.
