Data shows the Biden-Harris administration has targeted faith-based colleges, study finds.
According to the American Principles Project (APP), the Department of Education's actions are “unjust” targeted Christian colleges are ignoring Ivy League schools, the organization reported Nov. 18.
Nearly 70 percent of the activity involved faith-based schools and career schools, the report said. APP noted that these schools serve less than 10% of students nationwide.
The department's enforcement office, created with the implicit purpose of promoting the woke policies of the Biden-Harris administration, also targeted two of the nation's most prominent Christian universities, Grand Canyon University and Liberty University; A record-level fine exceeding all fines was imposed. Total imposed over the past 7 years.
Breitbart News reported on November 12 that President-elect Donald Trump promised in a July video to shut down the Department of Education.
“And the other thing that I'm going to do pretty early on in my administration is shut down the Department of Education in Washington, D.C., and send all of our education and education-related jobs and needs back to the United States. We want them to run our children's education, because they'll do a better job. It can't be any worse,” President Trump said.
The paper later reported that President Trump had selected Linda McMahon to be secretary of the Department of Education.
President Trump said:
As president of the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) for the past four years, Linda is a passionate advocate for parental rights and a passionate advocate for universal school choice at both AFPI and America First Works (AFW). I have been working on this. Twelve states give children the opportunity to receive a great education, regardless of their zip code or income.
Approximately a dozen Christian colleges have been subject to penalties or are no longer allowed to receive federal student aid, according to an APP investigation.
“For the past four years, Democrats have been busy weaponizing every branch of the federal government to target their opponents,” APP Policy Director John Schweppe said in a statement.
While large-scale attacks by agencies such as the Justice Department dominate the headlines, similar corrupt efforts at other agencies should not be ignored. As our report details, Biden and the Harris Department of Education have been working on a long-term plan to punish Christian colleges and universities that ideologically oppose left-wing policies. The unfair targeting of these institutions is egregious and must stop immediately.
The average fine for Christian schools for Clery Act violations was $815,000, according to APP. The group noted that attacks against public and private institutions amounted to $228,571.
