Hamas attacker opens fire at Israeli bus in West Bank, injuring at least 8: report

A gunman suspected of belonging to the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas opened fire on an Israeli bus in the West Bank on Friday, wounding eight people, including four soldiers, according to reports.

The incident near the Ariel settlement ended with Israeli forces killing the assailant, identified by Hamas as 46-year-old Samer Hussein.

“As a result of the gunfire attack, four IDF soldiers sustained minor injuries and were evacuated to a hospital for treatment,” the IDF said in a statement, adding that “armed terrorists opened fire on an Israeli bus in Gitti.” Ta. Avisar [Junction]This may cause injury or damage. ”

“IDF soldiers eliminated the terrorists at the scene,” the Israeli military said in a statement.

The al-Qassam Brigades, a Hamas armed group, said the attackers were members of the group. According to Reuters.

Elsewhere on Friday, two girls and a woman were crushed to death as a crowd of Palestinians tried to buy bread at a bakery in the Gaza Strip.
