Comedian and HBO host Bill Maher called Jane Fonda “naive” during a conversation on his podcast “Club Random,” in which he said Jane Fonda was the fossil we know. They called for the abolition of fuel.
“That will never happen,” Maher said.
Jane Fonda appeared on Monday's episode of her podcast, Club Random, and spoke with Bill Maher about a wide range of topics, including aging (Fonda turns 87 this month), marriage, politics, and more. At one point, Fonda turned the conversation to her favorite activist cause: climate change.
“We are facing a climate crisis. According to the science, and I believe we are paying attention to the science, we don't have much time to do anything about it,” she states in her request. As mentioned before. With the development of new fossil fuels, emissions will be cut in half immediately and then gradually phased out. ”
Mr. Maher did not agree with that. Not because I'm not on Mr. Maher's side, but because I don't think civilization will voluntarily abandon fossil fuels.
“That will never happen,” he said. “It's not something only humans want to do.”
Fonda replied, “It has to happen, otherwise we have no future.''
Maher argued that China and India will not respond to cutting carbon emissions. …They’re going to — damn it. ”
Fonda then promoted solar and wind energy as well as “giving money to the Global South,” or sending trillions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to other countries for green energy development.
Maher pushed back again. “I don't object to your plan. What I'm saying is, it's not a plan that will ever get passed, so why bother with it?”
He also said civilization may need to “invent a way to solve this,” and that carbon capture technology and other innovations could be a better solution.
After a moment, Fonda said: “You're such a cynic.”
Maher replied: “And you're so naive.”
Jane Fonda has been active in the climate movement for several years.
As reported by Breitbart News, Fonda recently campaigned to address Kamala Harris' “climate emergency,” believing that a Harris Waltz ticket could cut fossil fuels in half. did.
