ICE Boston arrests migrant accused of kidnapping, home invasion

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) The United States recently announced the arrest of an illegal immigrant in Massachusetts who had been in the United States illegally for about two years.

Julio Esteban Batista Castillo, 24, was charged with kidnapping, malicious destruction of property, trespassing and burglary, as well as several counts of assault and battery. He was arrested by ICE agents in Boston on November 18th.

According to an ICE press release issued Tuesday, the suspect entered the United States illegally in January 2023.

Patricia Hyde, acting Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) Boston field office director, said in a statement that Batista-Castillo was taken into ICE custody because immigration detainees were not respected in Roxbury District Court. A court had arraigned him prior to ICE's arrest.
