A Texas elementary school teacher is currently on leave after being stripped of bathroom privileges for her entire first-grade class, after some students allegedly came home with peeing and soiling their clothes.
On Wednesday, students in Ashley Barrera's first-grade class allegedly started misbehaving in the hallway of Bartlett Elementary School in Conroe, a city of 103,000 people about 40 miles north of Houston. In retaliation, Barrera reportedly took away their bathroom privileges in apparent defiance of district rules. Student Code of Conduct.

It is unclear exactly how many students were involved in the accident that day. A letter from principal Charita Smith referred to “upsettingly two students involved in the accident”, suggesting that there were only two students involved. However, Amber Johnson claimed she heard up to six students soiled themselves.
“These kids were made to sit in their pants all day,” she wrote on Facebook. She further claimed that her parents were not informed of the incident until “two minutes before dismissal.”
Mr Johnson described Mr Varela's alleged punishment as “inhumane” and claimed it could cause health problems such as urinary tract infections.

KPRC recently received a report of a similar problem occurring in Barrera's classroom. The outlet also heard that another teacher was in the room during the incident, but district administrators told KPRC they could not confirm that information.
The outlet confirmed that Barrera is on vacation.
