Chicago residents on Wednesday blasted Mayor Brandon Johnson and other city officials, accusing them of “ignoring” citizens' constitutional rights, complaining about tax hikes and questioning how the city is tackling the immigration crisis. They called for greater transparency regarding how the government is handling the situation.
“You're all in direct violation of the United States Constitution. But you're all going to sit back and say how unconstitutional Trump is, and how he's going to overthrow the government, and how he's going to do all of this.” But here I am, this is not the Democratic Party, this is not Matt Gaetz,” said Speaker Zoe Lee. said.
“Democrats love to accuse Trump and the Republican Party of corruption and constitutional violations. But under their leadership, black families like mine face similar abuse in Chicago. Our constitutional rights… They are ignored, wrongdoing is covered up and public corruption goes unchecked,” Lee continued.

“Stupid of this administration to think we don't know anything about you all trying to pass a budget with tax increases. To think we don't know you all could have raised taxes. That's stupidity.'' We fixed this a long time ago,'' Jackson said. “It's foolish for you to think that you're going to get these kinds of cuts, these kinds of recommendations, and not get a real accounting of how much money is being spent on these illegal activities. We don't have transparency about the city's financial collapse. That's the biggest thing. ”

“But there is no audit of any kind, no financial accounting of any kind on illegal immigration,” Jackson added.
O. King, a 26-year-old from Chicago, recalled that his neighborhood elementary school “turned into an immigrant shelter.”
King wore a construction helmet that read “Chicago Goes Red” and told officials the hat represented the cartoon character “Bob the Builder.”
“This hat is a symbol of Bob the Builder, who builds walls. We build high walls all over America, around Chicago. We don't want illegal aliens in our communities. Terrorize the people and threaten you “It's shameful for all of us to sit here and say we have to accept $7 million to be given to black people who are already suffering and need help.'' That's true,” Dr. King said.
He added: “The election of Donald Trump represents much more than a victory for Trump.”
