President-elect Donald Trump is expected to be named Time magazine's 2024 Person of the Year, marking his second time winning the coveted award..
Politico reported On Wednesday, President Trump announced that he plans to ring the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday morning and unveil a photo of himself on the cover. News of Trump's election appears to have been leaked, and the outlet named three people who spoke anonymously because they were “not authorized.”
A Time Inc. spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “Time Inc. does not comment on Person of the Year selections prior to publication. This year's selections will be announced tomorrow morning.”
Trump, Rogan and Musk are among the finalists for 2024 Time Person of the Year.
Mr. Trump is widely considered a finalist for Time magazine's Person of the Year, with podcast hosts Joe Rogan and Elon Musk also among the frontrunners. The Times' description of the shortlist praised Trump for having “reshaped the American electorate” in a “remarkable” political comeback.

Vice President Kamala Harris also included in the listalong with Duchess Kate, Russian economist Yulia Navalnaya, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election and was named Time magazine's Person of the Year. At the time, he hailed the award as a “huge honour” and “very meaningful”.

Harris and President Biden won the Time magazine award in 2020, beating out Trump and his running mate, former Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump was on the shortlist for the award in 2015, but lost to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. At the time, Trump said he expected not to win this year and called Merkel “the person who is ruining Germany.”
“@TIME magazine said they would never choose me as Person of the Year despite being a huge favorite. They chose someone who is ruining Germany,” he wrote.

The 2024 issue will be the second time that Trump has won the “Person of the Year” award, but this feature will be his third on the cover this year. The magazine famously used a historic photo of Trump standing tall after his first assassination attempt on the cover of its July issue.
