A mail carrier delivered mail to a co-worker and brutally stabbed her with a knife at a Staten Island apartment Wednesday, police officials said.
According to officials, the postal worker attacked a 26-year-old woman with a pocket knife after getting into an argument with her inside an apartment in Dongan Hills just before 3 p.m.
The mail carrier reportedly fled after the attack, fleeing in a black BMW sedan while still wearing a USPS jacket.
The two were off-duty when the violence broke out on the fifth floor of the woman's apartment near Dongan Hills Avenue and Richmond Road.
Police were called to the scene after the woman told a neighbor to call 911, officials said.

Police found her in the lobby with multiple stab wounds to her chest, stomach, arms and thighs, and a horrific blood trail leading to her apartment.
Doctors rushed her to Staten Island University North Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Officials said she told police the suspect worked with her at a post office in Lower Manhattan.
The postman has not yet been arrested by police.
The newspaper reached out to the USPS for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.
