President-elect Donald Trump's incoming border czar, Tom Homan, praised New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) for cooperating with federal immigration authorities.
During an interview with Sean Hannity of FOX NewsHoman shared some details of Thursday's meeting with Adams.
“He put politics aside.”

Homan explained that Adams will assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in removing illegal aliens who have committed crimes from the city.
“He wants to help ICE look for national security threats. He wants to help ICE find more than 340,000 missing children, but… Many will be in the city,” Homan continued.
Last week, Adams was pressed to reopen the ICE outpost on Rikers Island to facilitate coordination with local law enforcement.
Homan said during Thursday's meeting, Adams expressed interest in renovating the facility.

Homan also said he spoke with Adams about the tragic murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley.
Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal immigrant with suspected ties to the Venezuelan gang Torren de Aragua, was found guilty of Riley's murder. Before the gruesome killing, Ybarra was arrested in New York City on child endangerment charges.
“If the circumstances had been different, ICE could have detained him instead of releasing him,” Homan explained.
The Border Czar expressed hope that there would be a “domino effect” if Mr Adams met with him and demonstrated a willingness to work with the incoming administration.
“I think New York City is becoming a lot safer,” Homan said. “I think New York City is trying to send a strong message.”
