The soon-to-be former congressman sparked controversy last week when he wrote a post on X titled “Dear White People” in which he accused white people who support Daniel Penny of being racist.
But Bowman is leaving Congress after losing his primary in a landslide last June in what was the most expensive primary in U.S. history. Bowman received only 42% of the vote, losing to his Democratic opponent George Latimer, who received 58%.
