Griot White House correspondent April Ryan said Wednesday on “MSNBC Reports” that President Joe Biden is “the standard-bearer for what our Founding Fathers established.”
Guest host Richard Louie said, “Part of what we learned overnight is that the president vetoed the Judges Act, which would have lifted the burden of litigation solely on federal courts across the country.'' More than a dozen new judges will be created to alleviate this burden. The bill had bipartisan support, but House Republicans refused to vote for it until after Donald Trump won the election. What do you think about what’s going to happen to us?”
“President Joe Biden simply didn't want to give President-elect Donald Trump the opportunity to add more conservatism to our courts, at the end of the day,” Ryan said. I mean, there's a lot of people talking about how heavy everything is right now. At noon on January 20th, the White House will be Republican, House of Representatives, Senate, what? The Republican Party and the Supreme Court lean Republican. So this president wanted to ensure checks and balances. ”
She added, “He's the standard bearer for what the Founding Fathers set out. He wants to make sure everything goes well. And think about this, even if it's not a federal judge's decision. Just think about what happened to Merrick Garland. Think about the fact that Merrick Garland didn't even get a chance to meet with some of the senators. It also means that we are trying to confirm once again that this is maintained.
