California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom's administration is considering ways to protect undocumented immigrants from future deportation efforts by President-elect Donald Trump.

The draft law states that funding for the plan will be used for “approved administrative costs associated with community outreach, partnerships, legal services staffing and hub operations.” It's unclear how much funding this program will require.
Politico also reported that the draft document indicates DSS is still evaluating potential interest in the plan. The final proposal is expected to be announced by mid-January.
