Two Oregon men were found dead in a Washington forest after failing to return from a Sasquatch search trip, authorities said Saturday.
The Skamania County Sheriff's Office announced via Facebook that the 59-year-old and 37-year-old men apparently died from exposure.
The office reportedly came to that conclusion due to the weather and the men's lack of preparation.
The Sasquatch is a folkloric beast thought to roam the forests of the Pacific Northwest, especially.
The two men were found in a dense area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, about 240 miles northeast of Portland.
His family reported him missing at around 1 a.m. on Christmas Day after he did not return from a day out on Christmas Eve.
Sixty volunteer search and rescue workers, including dog teams, drone teams and ground teams, assisted in the three-day search.
The Coast Guard used infrared technology to search from the air.
Authorities used camera recordings to locate the vehicle the two men were using off Oklahoma Road near Willard on the southern border of the national forest.
