One dead after Tesla Cybertruck catches fire outside Trump hotel in Las Vegas | Las Vegas

A Tesla truck caught fire and exploded outside President Donald Trump's Las Vegas hotel on Wednesday, killing one person and injuring seven others, authorities said.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Clark County Fire officials said in a press conference that one person died in the car and efforts were underway to recover the body.

Seven other people nearby also suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

A county spokesperson said in a statement that the fire was reported at 8:40 a.m. in the valet area of ​​the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas.

The cause was not disclosed and details were unclear.

“We know you have a lot of questions,” Jeremy Schwartz, acting FBI special agent in charge of the Las Vegas office, said at a news conference. “I don't really have an answer.”

Eric Trump, the president-elect's son and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, posted about the fire on social media platform X, praising the “quick response and professionalism” of the fire department and local police.

This 64-story hotel is located just off the famous Las Vegas Strip and across from Fashion Show Las Vegas shopping mall.
