News outlets grumble as Trump plans MAGA rally in DC on eve of Inauguration Day

President-elect Donald Trump plans to celebrate the start of his second term a day early with a rally in Washington, D.C., the day before he is sworn into office.

According to sign up page According to the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee website, the event will begin on January 19, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. Trump is scheduled to take the oath of office at noon on January 20th at the Capitol in less than 24 hours.

“Join President Trump at Capital One Arena for a victory rally you'll never forget!” the sign-up page says.

Capital One Arena is home to the D.C. area's two professional sports teams, the NBA's Washington Wizards and the NHL's Washington Capitals. The arena can accommodate approximately 20,000 people, newsmax Reported.

Tickets can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. However, there is a limit of 2 tickets per registered mobile phone number.

“The events of January 19 were reminiscent of rallies on the final day of the election campaign… [that] It contained several controversial moments.

Pre-inauguration meetings are important for two reasons.

First, it will be the first public rally Trump has hosted since defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the November presidential election. In the lead-up to the election, Trump hosted dozens of rallies, traveling from battleground state to battleground state in hopes of securing more votes.

Since the election, Trump has been busy preparing for a second term. He also hosted several small gatherings. new year's eve party Elon Musk and other supporters were in attendance at his Mar-a-Lago, Florida mansion.

Second, the rally's proximity to the Capitol has already drawn at least one comparison to the January 6, 2021 melee at the Capitol.

Joey Garrison USA Today seemed particularly outraged, writing, “Four years after a mob of Trump supporters violently stormed the Capitol to protest President Joe Biden's victory over Trump in the 2020 presidential election, The conference will convene on January 6 to count the electoral votes that will certify Trump's victory.”

Garrison also pointed out that Biden “has said that even if President Trump were to miss Biden's inauguration in 2021, he would attend Trump's inauguration on January 20th.”

USA Today wasn't the only media outlet that seemed dismayed by President Trump's plans for a D.C. rally. Stephanie Lai, who reported the news about the rally, said: bloomberg President Trump has repeatedly hinted that he is unpredictable and perhaps unstable.

The rally “gives the president-elect wide latitude to stage a freewheeling spectacle,” Lai wrote.

At these events, Mr. Trump often “feeds off the energy of his fans, ignores the teleprompter, and has fun,” a behavior Mr. Lai described as “unrestrained.”

Such a rally would also bring President Trump into line with most president-elects who “typically keep a low profile the day before they are sworn in,” Lai continued. She went on to suggest that Trump may have planned the rally because he loves attention, adding, “But Trump, who first emerged as a reality TV star, has always been a big fan of large-scale events that excite his fans. He is known for enjoying glamor.”

Lai also appeared to criticize President Trump's rallies in general, citing a joke made at one rally by a comedian not affiliated with the Trump campaign.

The January 19 event was reminiscent of the final day of the campaign rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The event included several controversial moments, including comedian Tony Hinchcliffe's incendiary joke in which he called Puerto Rico a “floating island of trash.” This prompted significant backlash from Democrats and Republicans alike.

Some expressed concern about the rally, which had nothing to do with President Trump's great personality or January 6th. Rather, they are concerned that the gathering poses an unnecessary safety risk.

“Well, could he be inducted into the No. 1 spot? If he doesn't have the presidential security detail, why would he take a chance…We don't need another event in Butler, Pennsylvania. The victory rally is “Not needed at all,” the user wrote Who passes by? Jayvi.

“I love rallies, but I hope he doesn't do something like this,” the self-proclaimed woman added. DR Maga.
