Philadelphia is always lively.
After the Flyers lost to the Maple Leafs for the second time in two days on Tuesday, Toronto fans began waving to Philadelphia fans on their way home from the Wells Fargo Center.
According to footage shared on social media, a fan wearing a backwards Eagles hat descended to the front row and confronted a provocative Maple Leafs fan before unleashing a power punch.
The Eagles fan violently threw his right hand at one Toronto supporter who did not participate in the taunt, before taking a hard shot into the ear of another Maple Leafs fan.
Immediately after the punch was thrown, someone who appeared to be a stadium employee appeared to usher Eagles fans out of the line.
Perhaps Philadelphia fans' frustration stems from the 17-19-5 Flyers, currently led by former Rangers coach John Tortorella.
The Flyers are currently on a three-game losing streak, but are in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division, just ahead of the Rangers (18-20-2) and Islanders (15-18-7).
The Capitals lead the division with 26 wins, 10 losses, and 4 draws.
Fan fights are an unfortunate and even common occurrence at sporting events.
The city of Philadelphia, in particular, has a history of wild and destructive scenes following high-stakes games.
In recent memory, Eagles fans took to the streets after Super Bowl II victory over the Patriots in February 2018, setting off fireworks and jumping off the grounds in mayhem.
The Flyers will look to get back on track Thursday against the Stars (25-12-1).
