Jamie Lee Curtis fought back tears during a TV appearance as she detailed the “disaster” of the Palisades fire near her home in California. “The Tonight Show” Wednesday.
“You know, there's a fire going on right now where I live. Literally the entire city of Pacific Palisades is on fire. I flew here last night. I was on a plane and… , I started getting text messages saying, “It's so dangerous, you guys.''
“It's a disaster in Southern California. Obviously, there are terrible fires in a lot of places. This is literally where I live. Everything.”
Curtis said he has “so many friends” who lost their homes in the devastation of the fire.
“It's a really bad situation,” she added.
The 66-year-old added that she would take the first flight home Thursday to be with family and friends.
The Academy Award-winning actress, who lives in Los Angeles with her husband Christopher Guest, shared with her followers on Instagram early Wednesday that her home “may have been on fire.”
“My community and probably my home is on fire,” actress says I wrote in the post. “My family is safe. Many of my friends will be homeless. So will many other communities.”
“Please take care of each other,” she told her followers. “Get out of the way and let the firefighters do their job. If you believe, pray, and if you don't believe, pray for those who do.”

The Emmy Award winner is one of tens of thousands of people forced to evacuate their homes in the Pacific Palisades and surrounding areas.
Four uncontained fires in Los Angeles County – the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, and Sunset Fire – have burned more than 27,000 acres.
The Hearst fire is 10 percent contained, officials said.
The fires are caused by strong winds, “dry fuel” and low humidity.
