The Senate this week has become a stage of absurdity for President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet nominees, with Democrats playing the role of rogue clowns screaming (literally) for attention.
If you're just an average political observer, watching this show at home was probably an annoying, infuriating, and sometimes funny experience. The questioning of Pete Hegseth, Trump's nominee for defense secretary, and Pam Bondi, Trump's nominee for attorney general, severely damaged the once relatively dignified atmosphere in the Senate chamber.
So who was this week's biggest loser in these confirmation hearings?
I'm glad you asked.

5. Senator Richard Blumenthal
It's truly amazing to see this guy even show up to his confirmation hearing. You may recall that Blumenthal repeatedly lied about serving in Vietnam, even though at the time he had never set foot outside the continental United States. The Connecticut Democrat went so far as to say he and other soldiers were “physically abused” upon their return to the United States.
“I don't think you can say to this committee or to the American people that you are qualified to lead them. As a spokesperson for the Department of Defense, I support you,” Blumenthal said with no trace of self-awareness. He reverently said to Hegseth: The veteran served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, earning two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman Badge.
Connecticut State Senator Richard Blumenthal
Democrats put Blumenthal on the Armed Services Committee despite lying about his military service in the ultimate textbook example, “Stolen Valor.” What's next? Will you nominate him to the Veterans Affairs Committee?
Oh, yes…Rambo is also part of that committee.

4. Sen. Elizabeth Warren
Speaking of people who have lied about their past in the most despicable ways possible, a fake Native American lawmaker from Massachusetts said Tuesday that generals shouldn't work directly in the defense industry to avoid falling behind. actually got into it when I asked him about his claims. If you then return to the Pentagon, you will be at risk.
“You're convinced that every general who enters the military should not be directly involved in the defense industry for 10 years, so aren't you willing to take the same oath?” a hysterical Warren asked Hegseth.
“I'm not a general, senator,” Hegseth deadpanned, drawing laughter from the chamber.
On Tuesday night, Warren joined CNN's Caitlin Collins to report that during the interview, Republican Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa endorsed Hegseth. After hearing this news, I was almost certain that Hegseth would be appointed. Warren visibly winced when he heard the news. A clip of that moment has since gone viral online.
3. Senator Adam Schiff
And again, speaking of prolific liars on Capitol Hill, the newly elected president who was censured by the House of Representatives for lying for years about having direct evidence that then-President Trump colluded, Look no further than California Democratic Sen. Collaborated with the Kremlin to sway the 2016 elections in his favor. Of course, that evidence has not yet been presented.
During the cross-examination of Pam Bondi, likely to become the next attorney general, Schiff played the role of white knight for the newly minted Democratic darling, former Wyoming House Republican Liz Cheney.
“As you sit here today, I want to ask you, do you know the factual predicate for investigating Liz Cheney?” Schiff demanded.
“Senator, no one asked me to investigate Liz Cheney. That's a hypothesis,” Bondi responded.
“The president publicly asked for it. You know that, right?” Schiff shot back.
“Nobody asked me to investigate Liz,” Bondi claimed, then added. “Do you know what we should be worried about? California's crime rate is currently through the roof. Your robbery rate is 87% higher than the national average.” Senator, if I were confirmed as Attorney General If so, that's what I want to focus on. ”
And Bondi is 100% correct. Instead of obsessing over the whole Trump thing (like Liz Cheney does), perhaps consider the fact that Schiff represents the state of California. California has essentially been under one-party rule and has lost more residents than any other state in the country for countless years. Just cause, especially crime.
2. Senator Mazie Hirono
If anyone could sum up how ridiculous some of the questions at these hearings were, it would be none other than Pacific Pride.
Here's what the Hawaii Democrat told Bondi:
“Since you became a legal adult, have you ever been subjected to unwanted sexual advances, verbal or physical harassment, or sexual assault?”
Bondi: “No, Senator.”
Hirono: “Have you ever received any disciplinary action or made any settlements regarding this type of behavior?”
Bondi: “No, Senator.”
To be clear, Bondi has never been remotely accused of these allegations. Hirono knows this but throws it out there in an effort to make it public record and on national television.
Wednesday's exchange was typical, but Hirono's memo contained no rebuttal to her.
Hirono: “Do illegal immigrants stain the blood of our country?”
Bondi: “I went to the border and visited the rape crisis center and it was horrible…I'm sure you've been to the border too.”
Hirono: “Then let's move on.”
game. set. Match. Greetings to the next Attorney General, America.

1. Sen. Tim Kaine
The winner of the Biggest Loser Ranking was the easiest pick on the list. Mr. Kaine, Democrat of Virginia, looked like he had just rolled out of bed during the hearing. Was it that bad?.
Exhibit A: At one point during his cross-examination of Hegseth, Kaine tried to argue that the candidate was twice divorced and could not be expected to uphold his oath as defense secretary without being reliable. To keep our marriage vows.
yes. This is the same Tim Kaine who was former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's running mate and never said a word about Bill Clinton's multiple violations of military law (the former president has also been accused of rape)… Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, who cheated on his first wife with his nanny, had the audacity to sit in on the judgment against Hegseth, the same Tim Kaine he campaigned with. And his questions focused on personal matters that happened many years ago.
“I am not a perfect person and I do not claim to be. I have made mistakes in life, but thankfully I am saved by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. ” Hegseth answered perfectly.
Democrats clearly showed this week that they learned nothing from the last election. The loud, pious lectures were from people who really needed a big mirror to look back at themselves.

This week did nothing in favor of the party itself. The Democratic Party looked and sounded like a loser party married to a loser brand while embracing cheap performance art for the type of people who still watch MSNBC and CNN.
Mr. Trump will seek Cabinet approval. And in the process, the Blue Team will continue down a path that most Americans do not want: one paved with division and demagoguery.
