American boxing should be ashamed!
The USA Boxing program announced a new transgender policy in 2023 that would allow biological men to punch women. The policy specifically targets men who have undergone gender reassignment surgery while maintaining their testosterone levels. If both conditions are met, these men will be allowed to compete in women's boxing.
Professional boxer based in Michigan. sarah cunningham I talked to out kick About how she's upset about US Boxing allowing matches between men and women.
“Men have a different body structure, bone structure, muscle structure…and that gives men an advantage,” said Cunningham, who works as a sports dietitian and registered nurse. “To have them come in and take over women's sports…” [even if] They underwent surgery but are still not back to normal. ”
But Cunningham isn't the only one blowing up USA Boxing, so is her coach, Jeff Watters.
“My biggest question is [for USA Boxing] If one of my girls was basically trying to pick a fight with a guy, would I be notified? I don't mean to sound insensitive, but if my daughter had to fight a man, would I pull her out of the fight and tell her in advance that I'm not good at it?'' Watters said.
