Carmelo Anthony ‘had to clear up’ Rihanna meme that had ‘internet in a chokehold’

Carmelo Anthony says he was just trying to keep a low profile when he was spotted giving Rihanna a cooing look at the 2014 Met Gala afterparty.

In his article Thursday, “7pm in Brooklyn” Podcast — with The Kid Melo, Rudy Gay, Monica McNutt — the group couldn't help but laugh as Anthony described the moments leading up to the photo.

“We're already there and having a great time. Every time a celebrity shows up, the cameras go crazy,” Anthony said. “…that area is small and you can see the flashes go off and it’s a big fuss when you go in there.Finally I went in and passed the camera and sat down.Now I’m in my comfort zone of sitting. “There's only one area to go to, there's only one area to go to, and I'm like, 'Please don't come here,'” he joked. “The flash went off, so I put my head down and looked up and she was there, posing.”
