House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has accused President-elect Donald Trump's attorney general nominee Pam Bondi of lying to Congress about James Biden, according to a letter obtained by Breitbart News. He called for an investigation and prosecution.
President Biden's younger brother, James, is a member of the Biden family's businesses. As reported by Breitbart News, many of his interactions with companies are as follows:
- During the investigation into Comer's family, it was discovered that a $200,000 check from Amecore, which allegedly defrauded Medicare, was delivered to Joe Biden's bank account via James Biden. James Biden denied that the checks were due to an existing business relationship. He claimed the money was repayment for money loaned to him by Joe Biden. Comer then requested “loan documents” allegedly created by the Biden brothers, but the White House rejected the request.
- Mr. Comer also issued subpoenas to Mr. James' Lionhall Group and JBBSR, Inc. entities. The subpoena appears to be aimed at obtaining records related to Joe Biden's entity, Celtic Capri Corp., which received nearly $10 million in 2017 without specifying the items of revenue.
- James was also a business partner in CEFC China Energy Co., an organization with close ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Comer discovered through a suspicious activity report (SAR) that Rob Walker, a Biden associate, received $3 million in wire transfers from CEFC. As a result, four members of the Biden family (Hunter, James, Harry, and an unidentified “Biden”) received a combined $1.3 million share of the $3 million wire transfer.
Following Comer's findings, House Republicans launched an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. The injury revealed that Joe Biden was involved in and had knowledge of a family “influence peddling scheme” that generated more than $18 million for the Biden family and its affiliates.

In a letter to Bondi on Thursday, Comer asked Bondi to prosecute James for lying to Congress.
On February 21, 2024, the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee conducted a transcription of an interview with James Biden accompanied by his attorney. On February 28, 2024, the Oversight and Judiciary Committees took the deposition of Hunter Biden, who testified under oath and was accompanied by his attorney. The Department of Justice under 18 U.S.C. 1001 (false statements) and Hunter Biden under 18 U.S.C. 1621 (perjury). So far, Attorney General Garland has ignored the commission's referrals. As the reference letter shows, Hunter Biden and James Biden made patently false statements to the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee about key aspects of the impeachment inquiry, including against President Biden. This appears to be a conscious effort to detract from the focus of the investigation. President Biden's pardon covers all crimes committed by Hunter Biden during the committee's investigation (including perjury before Congress), but does not include any crimes committed by Hunter Biden during the committee's investigation, including perjury before Congress.
