MSNBC host Simone Sanders said Friday on “Deadline” that President-elect Donald Trump will transform America into something unrecognizable.
“I think there were a lot of people who believed that President Biden probably didn't understand, didn't understand the moment we were in, and that's true, especially if President-elect Trump… That was the case when I welcomed him to the White House.” And the White House released a photo of Trump smiling and posing not just in the Oval Office, but literally outside the White House. Some said, “No, he just said he was a threat to democracy.” And he is here and we welcome him. Perhaps the Democratic Party was just a fancy word. ”
She went on to say, “The legacy that Joe Biden will leave here will be what he said when I first spoke to him in 2019: This is a fight for the soul of this country.” Ta. What he did in his Oval Office speech last night, what he reiterated over and over again in the interview, the great interview that Lawrence gave, shows that Joe Biden understands this moment and that he wants the American people to understand this moment as well. That's what I want you to understand. ”
Sanders added: “He's not, as I like to say, going out rainbows and bunnies and listing all his accomplishments and saying, oh, okay. If we are not careful, we will do something. He's warning us all that without it, this country will become something we don't recognize. Some may say that's an exaggeration, but look around you. . Open your eyes, it’s happening.”
