Media outlets accuse Elon Musk of giving ‘fascist salute’ at Trump rally

Liberal media outlets have accused Elon Musk of giving a “fascist salute” at President Trump's inauguration rally on Monday.

“This feels like a victory! And this was no ordinary victory, this was a fork in the road to human civilization… I just want to say thank you for making it happen, thank you. From my heart, you “It's a thing,'' Musk, 53, told a roaring crowd of MAGA fans at Washington, D.C.'s Capital One Arena. The SpaceX CEO reached out to the crowd and placed his hand on his chest as he spoke.

CNN hosts Erin Burnett and Casey Hunt played a clip of the gesture, appearing to imply that Mr. Musk had just given the Nazi salute.

“That salute was a reminder of what we've seen in history,” Hunt said.

PBS NewsHour published a post about X saying that the Tesla CEO “gave a fascist salute.”

“I never imagined the day would come when something like the Heil Hitler salute would be performed behind the presidential seal,” Congressman Jerry Nadler wrote on X.

The Jerusalem Post wrote, “American billionaire Elon Musk appeared to give a Heil Hitler salute at the Trump Parade in Washington, D.C., after Trump's inauguration on Monday.”

In November 2023, the tech billionaire took a highly publicized trip to Israel to tour the sites of carnage left behind after Hamas' October 7 terrorist attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged a crackdown on anti-Semitism against X during his visit.

However, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) issued a statement defending Musk, saying he made an “unnatural gesture in a moment of enthusiasm and was not a Nazi salute.”

“At this moment, all parties should give each other a moment of respite, perhaps put aside their doubts and take a breather,” the statement said.
