A recently unveiled portrait of retired Gen. Mark Milley was removed at the Pentagon just two hours after President Donald Trump took the oath of office for the second time, according to reporters.
Milley was preemptively pardoned by former President Joe Biden hours before the end of his presidential term on Monday, but his recently unveiled portrait appears to have been removed at the Pentagon.
The portrait of the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and retired general was unveiled at the Pentagon just 10 days earlier during the Biden administration.
According to one report, a U.S. official said the White House had ordered the portraits removed, but did not provide further details. report by new york times.
As Breitbart News reported, Milley leaves the military with less credibility than when he first took over and facing a historic recruiting crisis.
Furthermore, because the position of chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is considered apolitical, he took the unprecedented step of repeatedly engaging in politics during his tenure as chairman.
Milley was also criticized in the media for walking with the 45th president in a show of strength after Black Lives Matters rioters torched the historic church in Lafayette Park. He went on to criticize Trump.
He publicly apologized for appearing with President Trump and revealed that Milley took actions that undermined the president's authority after the 2020 election, while the government was preparing to launch the then-incoming Biden administration. I sat in on numerous interviews with the authors of the published books.
In 2023, Milley resigned as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff before implying that President Trump was a “wannabe dictator.”
