The celebration wasn't over yet for patriotic passengers departing the nation's capital after President Donald Trump's inauguration.
On Tuesday, a passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight departing from Ronald Reagan International Airport in Arlington, Virginia, bound for Nashville, Tennessee, started singing.
Matt Oakley of Nashville, Tennessee, posted a clip of the moment on TikTok. The footage shows a man standing in front of the plane belting out Lee Greenwood's “God Bless the USA.”
The video's caption reads, “The kid next to me got hooked by the end.”
Oakley, a performer himself, said he performed at two inaugural balls during his stay.
“The man who stood in front of the plane was a veteran who served this country,” Oakley told Fox News Digital.
“He had the whole plane's attention and a lot of people were singing along,” he added.
The veteran seen in the video was wearing a flannel shirt and a red “Make America Great Again” hat.
Mr Oakley said it was difficult to know how many people took part in the celebratory song.
“It's a world where everyone seems to have things divided, but at that moment it didn't feel divided,” he said.
Oakley added: “It was great to see so many strangers celebrating our country.”
Fox News Digital has reached out to Southwest Airlines for comment.
