Trump touts executive order keeping biological males from women’s sports

In an interview on the Fox News Channel on Sunday, President Donald Trump touted an executive order signed earlier this week to keep biological men out of women's sports.

Trump was asked in an interview with Brett Bayer how he intended to unite the nation and find a common foundation with those who oppose his policies.

“I want to do that. But I want to say this. We have to come together, but in order to be together, there's only one thing we're trying to do. It's a huge success,” Trump said. “Success will bring the nation together, but it's difficult, and I say it's difficult.

Trump then turned his attention to the executive order.

“I just signed a bill that would make sure women don't need to be punished by men in sports. In other words, men are not allowed to play sports with women. That's ridiculous.” He said.

Trump signed the order early in the week as several athletes from girls and women's sports joined in. His signature came on Girls and Women's Sports Day across the nation.

The NCAA responded to Trump's executive order by changing its trans participation policy.

“Student-athletes assigned males at birth may not compete on female teams,” the new policy reads.
