President Trump on Sunday said he was not in a hurry to develop Gaza, claiming that construction there would bring stability to the Middle East after announcing plans to buy America in a war-torn region.
“Think of it as a big real estate site. The US owns it. Slowly, very slowly, we develop quickly. Trump told reporters.
The president's controversial proposals have supported decades of US foreign policy in the Middle East, and are the leaders of regional Arab countries, and even some of Trump's Republican allies, appearing to be slippery on it. .
Trump on Sunday called Gaza a “demolition site.”
“It's back. It's leveled and revised. There's no one there. Hamas is not there. We build up very rich countries in the Middle East. They are people, Palestine. They will build some beautiful places for people to live in,” he said. “They will live in relatively harmony and peace for the first time in hundreds of years.”
Trump on Friday claimed that Gaza was given to the US by Israel, doubled his push for Palestinians to leave the region. He said earlier in the week that Palestinian resettlement would be returned to Egypt and Jordan, but despite those countries quickly refusing to do so,
Trump also said Friday that his plans will “rely lead to great stability in the region” due to “very little money.” He has no detailed logistics of his plans.
