GOP lawmakers introduce bill aimed at stopping trafficking of migrant children

Rep. Morgan Luttrell of R-Texas joined GOP colleagues in the Senate by introducing legislation to protect non-accompanied immigrant children from traffickers.

“More than 300,000 companion immigrant children have virtually disappeared under the Biden administration and remained vulnerable to human trafficking, abuse and exploitation. Instead of ensuring safety, these are the following: Children of the group are released without follow-up and fall into the hands of cartels and criminals.,“Luttrell said in a release that announced the suspension of human trafficking under the Unaccompanied Immigrant Children Act of 2024.

Luttrell's laws include Sen. Rick Scott and R-Wis of R-Fla. He is a companion to the bill introduced in the Senate by Senator Ron Johnson of the Senate, and aims to prevent further human trafficking of immigrant children by conducting appropriate reviews for adults sponsoring children. In the United States, it includes parental review, immediate relatives, and unrelated adults.

The bill also requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to take steps to avoid all adults living in immigrant children's homes.

“It's frightening to think that more than 300,000 young innocent children are brought into this country, put into unsafe and risking human trafficking,” Scott said at his release. “As a parent or grandparent, I can't imagine what will happen to these children, and former President Joe Biden has said that by completely dismantling our immigration system and opening the southern borders, this is what we're doing. It woke up. “

The bill includes illegally releasing a child ban to the United States to prevent child trafficking, unless the sponsor is a legal guardian or relative of the child. We aim to take action. The bill also requires authorities to complete housing visits before the child is released to sponsors, and requires at least five unpublished home visits in the country in the first year.

The law requires that the release state that it will report to Congress about actions being taken to consider currently missing children.

“HHS needs to implement a thorough review so that these children are placed with responsible adults rather than predators,” Luttrell said. “President Biden's border policy will fail for everyone, and this law will support the Trump administration's efforts to correct the disasters we have left behind.”
