Trump boasts ‘great talks’ with Russia, Ukraine — teasing possible end to war

President Trump on Thursday suggested that Russia's “very bloody war” over Ukraine could come close to its end after discussions with both sides.

“Yesterday, the conference with Russia and Ukraine,” Trump, 78, said in an early truth social post.

“It could end that terrifying, extremely bloody war!”

The chief's commander said he and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to begin consultations “quickly” to end Europe's largest and deadly land conflict since World War II. It will come the day after it is revealed.

Trump, who claimed that the war would not have happened under his watch, said Putin had expressed his willingness to visit each other.

“I expect him to be here. I'll be there, and I'll probably meet him in Saudi Arabia,” he told reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday.

He later added that he would call President Volodymyr Zelensky to inform him of his planned consultations to begin the negotiation process.

“[W]Trump wants to stop millions of deaths in the war with Russia/Ukraine,” Trump posted to The Society of Truth.

Meanwhile, Zelensky confirmed that he and Trump have “meaningful conversations” about putting an end to the fight.

“No one wants more peace than Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

“Together with the United States, we are celebrating the next step to stop the attacks on Russia and ensuring lasting, reliable peace. Let's do that, as President Trump said.”
