The Mexican government has promoted minor seizures and cartel arrests as part of its PR strategy to soothe the Trump administration. Trump officials highlighted the inaction by Makesco over cartels and corruption. The US president threatened them with tariffs and other punitive measures.
This strategy was the brainchild of Mexico's Secretary of Public Security, Omar Garcia Halfucci, and is a member of Mexican President Claudia Sinbaum. Since taking over all federal law enforcement agencies in Mexico, Harfuch has continued to govern strictly by disseminating law enforcement information.
With each serious arrest, neither Mexican military or federal police press are permitted to spread information until Harfuch first tweets after confirming it. That's what Nuevo Laredo's most recent mid-level announcement by Halfucci, shortly after Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum called US President Donald J. Trump, as reported by Breitbart Texas. This was the case with the cartel statue. Roman claimed that the arrested individual was the top leader of the cartel, but he was actually the regional boss who led the strike team. A US law enforcement source has revealed to Breitbart that he is important to Texas, but not the top boss.
Harfuch looks like an ostensibly charismatic and professional Roman, but he has been the target of many controversies over corruption and bribery allegations.
In the latest news release from the federal security cabinet, authorities listed the results of a three-day job that they allegedly suffered several arrests and seizures across Mexico. However, if you look closely at the cases listed, while Mexico exaggerates its seizures, in reality, criminal organizations continue to operate with almost complete immunity throughout Mexico.
In the case of arrests, authorities hype the minor cartel figure, hiding behind the term “violence generator” when arresting members of a easily interchangeable cartel.
In the highlights of their report, Mexican security forces seized 16 rifles and more than 3,300 rounds of ammunition, armored vehicles, two regular vehicles, and several ballistic plates, and more than 16 ballistic plates. I insisted.
The report then breaks down other weapons and drug attacks across Mexico. However, all the seizures of all military and federal forces deployed throughout Mexico were small, and more than 10,000 National Guard soldiers were sent to the northern border after the threat of Trump's tariffs.
Harfuch has the history and impact on criminal organizations that decorate seizures. In December, authorities seized 1,100 kilograms of fentanyl during the Sinaloa attack, but authorities did not provide details of the arrest, but the attack was worth more than $400,000, which hit organized crime a major blow. He claimed he gave it.
However, according to the report LemondMexico's fentanyl production costs are around $17,000 per kilogram, and as the Mexican government argued, the actual seizure blow is around $20 million, not $400 million.
In a previous interview on Mexican television, Halfchu talked about the effectiveness of his army in Sinaloa, where Sinaloa's competitor facts are in a fierce lawn war. Harfuch claimed that his army seized numerous armored vehicles and several weapons.
What Harfuch does not mention is that his troops are not actively fighting cartel gunmen in many parts of Mexico, but rather appearing after cartel shootouts.
In the case of Tamaulipas, all seized armored vehicles are left behind not from conflicts with Mexican authorities but by rival fact shooters from the Gulf Cartels who have fought for control of favourable smuggling areas.
