Washington (WDCW) – The Kennedy Center was evacuated Thursday after a bomb threat was reported at the venue, authorities said.
The metropolitan police station said the threat was reported before 10:45am ET. Specifically, the bomb threat was targeting “Shen Yun's performance,” the Kennedy Center said.
Shen Yun 2025 will be announced by the Falun DAFA Association of DC and will begin a scheduled run at the Kennedy Centre on Thursday. According to the performance will continue until March 2nd. Kennedy Center's official website.

In response to the threat, coordination of Metropolitan Regional Transport Operations said Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway between Virginia Avenue and Parkway Drive were closed in both directions due to police operations.
Also on Thursday, U.S. Capitol Police said officers were investigating suspicious packages in the U.S. Supreme Court. However, police found that “nothing is dangerous” and confirmed that the scene was cleared.
