ICE Acting Director Removed As ‘Deportation Numbers Not Meeting Expectations,’ Will Now Oversee Enforcement Operations

Caleb Vitero, acting director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE), has been removed from his post, with current deportees not meeting expectations, administrative officials explaining.

Despite this, Vitello will maintain ICE, but he now oversees “All Sectors and Enforcement Activities: Illegal Aliens Discovery, Arrests, and Deportation.” Politics.

Vitello's demotion continues less than two weeks after the other two ICE employees were similarly removed from the post. Two other ICE staff, Russell Hot and Peterberg, previously held top positions within Ice executive division. He was then demoted and headed back to the agency's field office in St. Paul, Minnesota.
