Wilson (Rs.C.) made the announcement on his X account.
“We would like to thank you for announcing that we are drafting the law to direct the Sculpture and Printing Bureau to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump,” the lawmaker declared in a post on X.
“BidenFlation has destroyed an economy that forces American families to carry more cash. The most valuable bill for the most valuable president!” he added.
The law could encounter some complications due to current laws banning portraits of people appearing in American currency. This conundrum, signed into law in 1866, was held to avoid the emergence of monarchy.
Furthermore, in 1969, invoices over $100 were discontinued from distribution due to insufficient use. Previously, there were generally bills of $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000. We also had a $100,000 bill. However, it was not available to the public and was only used for official government work within the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve Bank.
