One of the illegal immigrants accused of trying to “violate” Marine Corps base Quantico last year, the post becomes exclusively revealed after President Joe Biden's ice lets them go.
Hasan Yousef Hamdan, 32, and Mohammad Khair Dabous, a 28-year-old student visa, were arrested on May 3 for trespassing into the base and were swiftly handed over to immigrants and customs enforcement.
But by June, ICE had loosened both of them after they each posted bonds in immigration cases. Hamdan's set was set at $15,000 and Dabs was set at $10,000.
The pair of illegal immigrants were charged with misdemeanor trespassing on military property, and was released on July 22, provided they appeared in court for an immigration hearing and agreed to leave Quantico or other military base. This was first reported by Todd Benzman of the Center for Immigration Research.
Hamdan is back at the ice detention center in Bowling Green, Virginia, according to federal law enforcement.
It was not immediately clear why he was re-arrested.
An ICE spokesman did not immediately respond to a mail request for comments regarding Hamdan's latest detention status.
Hamdan illegally entered San Diego across the southern border into the United States in April, a federal law enforcement source told the Post earlier.
He was arrested by a border agent. He quickly released him to the United States due to lack of detention space.
According to court documents filed by Hamdan's attorneys, officers have since confirmed that Hamdan and his vehicle had been driving Hamdan and his vehicle to the base in the passenger's seat.
However, when officers ordered Dabous to move the vehicle for inspection, he “continued to the base.” His lawyers argued that the entire case was “due to language barriers.”
Base spokesman Colonel Michael Curtis previously told military police officers guarding the entry gates that Dabous said “they work for a company subcontracted by Amazon and deliver to the US post office in the town of Quantico.”
However, the pair lacked “approved qualifications” to enter military facilities, Curtis said.
The two then “ignored” the officer's instructions and “continued to continue passing the vehicle through the holding area,” the spokesman added.
Officers responded by deploying a “vehicle denial barrier” before detaining and handing over the ice.
Dubs eventually stopped the vehicle and “complied” with further orders from the officers, his lawyers alleged.
Shortly after the incident, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin criticized the Biden administration for “failing to secure a border.”
Hamdan's next immigration hearing is scheduled for April 2nd.
