Hakeem Jeffries for video claiming ‘American people are with us’ — with no people in sight

House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries is being trolled on social media to post videos opposed to President Trump while standing alone outside the Capitol.

Jeffries claimed in the video Posted on x – And a few users laughed at the New York Democrats over the fact that he had no supporters to support his claim.

“We've returned to the capital. Another day, Jeffries' video message began, with the desolate east side of the Capitol in the background.

“We don't need paid protesters. Americans are with us,” Jeffries argued in the video. Hakeem Jeffries/X

“It is said that Donald Trump, Mike Johnson and Extreme Maga Republicans are claiming that Democrats are sending paid protesters to city hall meetings,” he adds.

“What's wrong with Y'all? What's wrong with y'all? You don't need to send paid protesters to your town hall meeting.”

“Americans are with us,” the Democratic leader argues. “People across the country are standing up to oppose attacks on the economy, attacks on hardworking families, attacks on our democracy, attacks on Medicaid.”

“We don't need paid protesters. Americans are with us.”

The lawmaker's posts were quickly proportioned to X. I got much more replies (in this case three times more) than stocks.

“I'm not saying he needs to film this in front of a large crowd, but who did you think it would be a good idea to stage this in front of a building full of deep, unpopular politicians, rather than going in tight, controlled shots at his desk?” Ali added.

Recently, Democrats' Congressional approval ratings reached an all-time low last month, with only 21% of voters signaling support for the work they have done. Quinnipiac University poll.

Even Democrats like Congressional DEMS say they have approved the way Congressional Democrats handle their work under Trump.

“The vast emptiness around him makes his message feel separate from reality. There is no crowd or visible support. Jeffries offers an assumed show of strength in an environment that intentionally reinforces the opposite,” Ali continued.

Conservative commentator Steve Guest accused Jeffries of “gaslighting” the public in the video.

“There's literally zero Hakeem Jeffries in this video. He says, 'Americans are with us,'” the guest wrote to X.

Another social media user joked that the video “needs cricket effectiveness.”

Others alleged that the infertility video bolstered Republicans and claimed that protesters at GOP Council's City Hall were paid.

Read one X-post: “Not only bad optics, but what kind of stupid messages reinforce the fake claims.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) claimed last week that Democrats appeared in several GOP City Hall events that were “early” and “fill in seats” to protest support from the Trump administration.

“The videos we saw about town halls were aimed at paid protesters in many of those locations,” Johnson insisted on CNN.

Jeffries' office did not immediately respond to requests to post comments.
