President Donald Trump has announced that Amar Ghalib, the Muslim Democratic mayor of Hamtramuk, Michigan, will serve as U.S. ambassador to Kuwait.
in post Truly socially, Trump praised Galib for helping the presidential election “to secure a historic victory in Michigan.” In September 2024, Galib approved Trump in his 2024 presidential election with Vice President Kamala Harris, pointing out that Trump was the “right choice” during a “critical time.”
“We are pleased to announce that Amer Ghalib will become Kuwait's next US ambassador,” Trump wrote in his post. “As mayor of Hamtrunk, Michigan, Amel worked hard to help secure historic victory in Michigan.”
Trump continued: “Amar won MD at Ross University School of Medicine and continues to serve his community as a proud medical professional. I know he is proud of our country in this new role. Congratulations!”
In an interview with Breitbart News in September, Ghalib spoke about his meeting with Trump, explaining that he talked about “some of the statistics here in Wayne County and how it was a Democratic base.”
Galib also added that Trump said he would “end the turmoil in the Middle East.”
As reported by Breitbart News, Trump won in Michigan and alongside other swing states, including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Arizona, Georgia and Nevada.
Trump received 49.7% of the Michigan vote, while Harris received 48.3%. According to New York Times.
