The newly released study challenges the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation into starvation claims against Israel, exposing the role of Hamastero organizations in managing aid distribution.
Last week, Hamas terrorists extended their ceasefire contracts and refused to begin the release of 59 hostages still held in Gaza, and the Israeli government decided to suspend all goods and supplies that enter Gaza.
But despite criticism from UN relief chief Tom Fletcher, who called the decision “worry,” the Trump administration congratulated the move.
Former IDF international spokesman and now a senior fellow at the Democracy Foundation, Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus dismissed star's claims to Fox News Digital while Hamas stores it while Israel ensures that Israel will enter aid. “Over 25,200 trucks arrived during the ceasefire. It's enough for four months. If you're hungry, it's because of Hamas' rot and not a lack of food,” he said.
Research published by Israeli public health experts challenges these claims based on data from Cogat's coordinator of government activities in Israeli territory and provides no evidence of hunger or intentional deprivation.

The study, dubbed “Foods Supplied to Gaza for the Seven Months of the Hamas-Israel War,” was led by nutrition and public health experts Aron Troen and Ronit Endevert, as well as researchers from several Israeli universities and the Ministry of Health. The study analyzed food cargo from January to July 2024 in Gaza.
Using an international food composition database and sphere humanitarian standards, they tracked calorie intake, nutritional value, and humanitarian aid efforts, providing an objective, data-driven analysis of the food supply delivered to Gaza during the first seven months of the war.
This study evaluated food cargo from international donors processed through Cogat. Each item was classified based on its energy content, protein, fat, and micronutrient composition. The total per capita nutritional supply was then measured against the international benchmark to ensure accuracy.

“We didn't participate in politics,” Professor Ronit Endebel said. “From a nutritional perspective, I just wanted to know if there were enough foods to enter Gaza. I've rechecked the data several times to avoid exaggeration.”
Between January and April 2024, 14,916 trucks carrying 227,854 tonnes of food entered Gaza, with an average of 124 food trucks per day. This study found that the daily calorie supply per capita averages 3,374 kcal, containing 101 grams of protein and 80.6 grams of fat.
The ICC refuses Israel's appeal and issues a warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu.
“In March 2024, the United Nations Integrated Food Security Stage (IPC) warned of Gaza's imminent hunger. Within days, careful specialist language had given way to media headlines and political statements.
“One of the most enduring falsehoods was the claim that more than 500 humanitarian trucks entered Gaza every day before the war, and that this number was necessary to meet the needs of the population. In fact, the number of food trucks was less than 100 per 100 years before the war, and had increased significantly since then,” he continued. “The purpose of our study is to address that gap by analyzing validated food cargo. The numbers show that food supplies did not drop to starve levels while there was variation.”

When asked specifically about the testimony obtained by Fox News Digital in Gazan, who reported struggling to find food on certain days, Endebel acknowledged that the study did not track the final distribution within Gaza. “I can't say I wasn't hungry, but I can make sure I have enough food in it,” she said. “In most cases, there was sufficient food available.”
An important finding in this study is the distinction between food supply and distribution. “Hamas used it as a tool of control to weaponize a systematic weaponized food distribution,” Endebel said. “Aidance was often not a problem as Hamas seized supplies, sold them on the black market, and prioritized its own fighter jets. Reports of hunger are not due to a lack of aid, but rather a deliberate strategy of limiting Hamas' access to maintain its power and profits.”
Despite these findings, ICC investigations and global criticism continued. “The IPC report, widely cited as evidence against Israel, failed to mention Hamas' role in the manipulation of assistance,” Troen said.
When asked by Fox News Digital whether the new findings would be considered in the survey, the prosecutor's ICC office responded: Interview with a witness.

Confidentiality is an important part of our work and is essential to protect the integrity of our investigation and ensuring the safety and security of victims, witnesses and everyone our office interacts with.”
A UN spokesperson introduced Fox News Digital to the Integrated Food Security Stage Classification (IPC). However, no response was provided even after the extension was granted.

Publicizing the survey raised challenges. “Given the anti-Israel bias in parts of the scientific community, we have chosen to submit to the Israel Journal of Health Policy Research, a peer-reviewed journal under Springer's Nature,” Troen said. “We wanted data to be quickly available to improve humanitarian efforts. However, the political situation has made the review process unusually intense.”
“This was one of the most rigorously reviewed studies I've ever worked on,” Endebel added. “We had five reviewers, much more than usual, to ensure absolute accuracy.
A team of researchers, including experts from Hebrew University, Ben Gurion University, Tel Aviv University and Haifa University, conducted the research with a commitment to scientific rigor. The currently widely cited paper highlights the importance of transparent data in assessing humanitarian crisis.

“One thing is clear. Given the amount of food that enters Gaza and the ongoing report of hunger, the distribution needs to be improved,” Troen concluded. “Effective cooperation between UN agencies, Kogat and Palestinian civil society without Hamas' interference is important to ensure that aid reaches those in the most need.”
