FIRST ON FOX: Beth Holloway addresses missing American college student search

First on FOX – The mother of an American teenager who was murdered while on vacation in Alba in 2005 has spoken out about the search for Sudiksha Konanki, a missing American college student.

“My family is very fortunate to have an American embassy that we work with. I didn't have that in Alba,” Natalie Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway, spoke only about Fox News Digital on Conanki's quest in the Dominican Republic.

“It's true, they check cameras from hotels, gas stations, traffic lights and store fronts. Wherever they are, they visit, the casinos and beach areas,” continued Holloway.

Natalie Holloway, 18, was murdered in 2005 at Mountain Brook High School, Alabama, a senior trip to Alba.

Authorities are looking for Sudiksha Konanki, a University of Pittsburgh student from the US who disappeared on the beach in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic.

“By planning the end of the outing, this brings everything to a perfect circle. They can decide where, what time, how to meet, how to leave together, and make a conscious and intentional plan to ensure safety.”

Conanki, a University of Pittsburgh Students From Loudoun County, Virginia, we last saw them walking along the beach outside the 5-star RIU Republica resort in the early hours of March 6th. She is not yet located.

The country's national police, La Policia Nacional, said a male friend who was with Conanki at the time of her loss was under investigation.

It is unclear who the “young man” is, but police say he is in the waters of the same beach, and they are questioning him that they are trying to support the events of his version, according to a translation of the Spanish statement.

When asked about Monday's report that Conanki may have owned, a spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office told Fox News Digital Authority that he had never seen the evidence presented at this time.

“As of last night, investigators were not only actively interviewing people they saw or might have been with last Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, but also reviewing surveillance video and phone records to help them see what happened and why,” spokesman Thomas Julia said.
