My beloved pastor was shot and killed by a woman outside a bar in Memphis According to To the Tennessee State Police.
Samantha Marion, 42, has pleaded not guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of 58-year-old pastor Ricky Floyd. Police said they were called to the shooting at 1:20am Wednesday and found Floyd shot dead near Mama's bar and grill in Kentucky St.
“He was tireless with his efforts to improve his community and address many things, including crime.”
The affidavit said the shooting took place after a discussion between Floyd, Marion and two other people, Mama. Floyd reportedly left the bar, with the other three following on.
“While talking outside, they advised Floyd was back and that he was angry and offensive towards all three,” police said.
Police said surveillance video captured Floyd grabbing Marion's phone and throwing it on the ground and then throwing it on the ground. He gets into the car and starts running away, but then he confronts Marion again and confronts him. That's when the police say he's leaving her, falling to the ground and won't get up.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Police said one of the people in Marion told them that he had shot Floyd.
“Pastor Floyd was a beloved member of the community,” said Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy. “He was tireless in his efforts to improve his community and address many things, including crime. His death is clearly a tragedy.”
Republicans in Shelby County Posted Fox News' Floyd video advocating for crime victims against LAX's police prosecutor.
“We've now done so many criminals who have put law-abiding citizens in prison,” he said in the video.
Floyd was a pastor of the pursuit of God's Church.
Marion faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted of voluntary manslaughter.
