The 73-year-old man shot three people in an Indiana laundromat and shot three people before turning the gun.
Newly released footage From the Lafayette Police Station, Louis McGrosslin of Lincoln, Nebraska returns to her childhood home and enters Lafayette Laundry on the night of December 5th.
McGrochin, a US Navy veteran, then went outside the laundry and cleared out the jammed weapon before shooting him in the head two days later, dying at a local hospital.
The shooting caused the city to shake afterwards, and police now found a private video of Macrosin and then provided clues behind the pointless violence, where he shared a strange conspiracy theories about his childhood home.
“In these recordings he spoke about his belief that individuals in Indiana, particularly Lafayette, dominate his mind,” police said.
“The content of these recordings strongly suggests that (McGlothlin) was suffering from serious mental health issues that had not been diagnosed.”
Clips from the home video show McGlothin talking about “cancers allowed to develop within the city of Lafayette.”
“We have to destroy these people,” McGrosslin said in one of the clips.
“They want your energy.”
Police also found a white paper photo sitting on a CD that suggests that McGlothin had been planning an attack for many years.
“The reason I have a CD is because I was going to do this in 2000. I had a pistol and couldn't control it. I sold the pistol to the Nebraska Guns. The receipt is in the file cabinet. What happened to Michelle,” the note read.
The police department said McGrochin drove from Nebraska to Indiana on the day of the shooting.
“It is believed he targeted the laundromat simply because it was an open business in the area he recognized,” police said.
Keith Ford, 35, was killed in the shooting, and Renee Martin, 32, and 30, Salvador Antonio de la Cruz Reyes were hospitalized.
Lafayette police sergeant. Shawn Verma said his office has high public interest in the shooting and has decided to release the video on Thursday to be transparent with the community.
