Democrats ‘Seem to Hate President Trump More than They Love America’

During the FNC's “Life, Liberty & Levin” aired Saturday, House Speaker Mike Johnson thought he would be unable to work with the other side of the aisle demonstrated during the passage of last week's ongoing resolution to fund the federal government.

Johnson argued that those difficulties showed that some Democrats hate Trump more than they love the country.

“[S]o The next big thing on our plate is the settlement process, and that's what we call one big beautiful bill,” he said. “And that's all of our campaign commitments, the promises we made on the campaign trail, the top priority of President Trump and the White House. We put it all together, so you're back to American energy control once again, as we're fully funded to keep track of that issue. I'm grateful for the good. That's good for the economy and national security. We'll help you continue to restore peace and exert peace through force. That's one of our guidelines. And of course, like you said, tax systems mark along with regulatory reform.”

He continued. “We need to make sure that the Trump-era tax cuts from the first administration are extended and we're going to do it permanently. And what it does is to give the market stability. So we're going to make sure there's no largest tax cut in US history. This is what happens by default if we fail on this mission at the end of the year. A lot of big work, a lot of compromise, discussion and deliberation has been done among the Republicans over the next five or six weeks, and we expect zero Democrats to support this, so we'll do this myself. Mark showed that they seem to hate President Trump more than love America, as he did in this vote on a resolution that funds the government, so the responsibility to govern the country falls into Republicans and we're going to do that. We're going to do that mission.”
