Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) criticized Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) as “strange,” then criticised the widely circulated video of “selected” Tiktok, featuring several Democrats, including Crockett.
In an interview with CNN about the “Confederation Status,” Crockett pointed out that Fetterman often goes to the floor of a room wearing a sweatshirt.
“He's not someone to talk about anything,” Crockett said. “I mean, this is someone who doesn't want to own a suit, or who doesn't want to own a suit. I really don't know. But when I go to the floor, I don't show up on my hoodie.”
Crockett defended the video, asking the influencers to join the six Democrats, who said she had little information in advance about the trend, but she emphasized that it was important for the public to see lawmakers laughing.
“I think it's important for us to see the real person, even if it means there are moments of laughing, that's fine, especially because we seem to cry more than anything else.
“But we know we didn't fly around the floor of our house at all, but Senator Fetterman has consistently roamed the Senate room and he has literally walked around to make sure he has to change Senate rules,” she noted the changes in the Senate dress code.
“So I don't think he's necessarily someone who has an opinion on this,” she added.
