Sen. Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.) was denounced by his own party members and liberal media commentators after he voted to support the Republican spending bill to avoid government shutdowns.
“Again, this had to happen and it didn't happen because of Chuck Schumer. If you thought about it, Republicans would have had to own government shutdowns.
Schumer passed a continuing resolution (CR) for Republicans, voted on Friday to avoid the closure, claiming that the government shutdown was a “gift” for President Donald Trump.
Co-hosts Sarah Haynes and Alyssa Farrr Griffin agreed with Schumer, claiming that the senators had made the right decision and discussed their co-hosts about why the shutdown had worsened.

Speaking directly to the senators when he appeared on “The View” Tuesday, Hostin accused Schumer of having “Caved” to Republicans. “We're friends so telling you this won't give you any joy, but I think you're a cave,” Hostin told Schumer. “I think you and nine other Democrats have fallen into the cave.”
Griffin asked him later. “Do you believe the party is confident that you will continue to work as its leader? And as someone who has influenced supporting Biden's decision to come aside, do you think it might be time for you too?”
Schumer argued that he would not resign and would continue to lead the Democrats and dismiss concerns from members of his own party.
In a Tuesday interview on “CBS Mornings,” co-hosted Gale King I told Schumer Members of his own party do not trust his leadership and say, “It's time for you to go.”
Former Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin compared Schumer to former President Biden in a weekend conversation at MSNBC, suggesting he needs to leave.
“Tighten me. President Biden has stayed too long and got Donald Trump. If Chuck Schumer is with him, there may be no democracy. It's not that they have to have a conversation within the Caucus. Chuck Schumer needs to go.” She told MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart on sunday.
“He's the wrong person. He did an interview with the New York Times, even worse than you could imagine. He was gross. He was in a bad mood. He claimed he did the right thing.

Many Democrats face record-breaking positive reviews and struggle against Trump, and believe the party should vote against the spending bill so that the government can close.
“There's very little Senate minority leaders can say. The 10 Democrats who voted for Republicans can appease people like me.
“They blew it away. The Democrat Tea Party was born on the same day Chuck Schumer went to that podium and read a very well-made statement that he said it was folded like a paper napkin,” she added.
“The reality here was that there was no message, no strategy, no leadership, at the end of the day. And I think this is a really black mark. “You can't let us know what you want to fight on Wednesday, and on Thursday, you'll be a cave. And now Republicans know that all they have to do is play Democrats and that works.”
MSNBC host Alicia Menendez in the same argument pointed out that some Democrats wanted Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) from their primary shooter.

Following Schumer's pledge to vote for CR, other Democrats, including Ocasio-Cortez, also I shredded him for it. Ocasio-Cortez told Anchor Jake Tapper on Thursday that Schumer's move was a “risky mistake.”
“And for me, there's little reason why Senate Democrats vote to pass on some leverage we have for free when we're sent here to protect Social Security, to protect Medicaid and to protect Medicare,” she added.
Schumer dismissed the possibility of a major challenge from progressive lawmakers during an interview with the New York Times after the vote to avoid a shutdown.
“It's been a while,” Schumer told Times' reporter Lulu Garcia Navarro.
“I'm focusing on beating Trump numbers, defeating his popularity and exposing what he's done to America and what he does,” Schumer said. “That's my focus right now. You know, three years from now, it's a long way to guess. I believe my efforts with Trump will pay off.”
While discussing the interview on CNN, Garcia Navarro said Schumer was in a “difficult position.”
“But I have to say, I've heard from a lot of people, they don't know he survived this,” she said.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, He told CNN on Sunday That Schumer's argument in favour of avoiding government shutdown is “absolutely wrong.”
When asked if Senate Democrats should replace Schumer, Crockett replied, “I think Senate Democrats have to sit down and look and see and decide if Chuck Schumer is the one to lead in this moment.”
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also criticized Schumer's decision.
“Let's be clear. It's not a good option for Americans either. But this false choice is unacceptable, with some people buying instead of fighting,” she said.

The senator voted 54-46 and passed the StopGap spending bill, which only had 51 votes to be approved. Almost every Republican supported the measure. But Senator Rand Paul, R-KY. , and most Democrats opposed it. Maine Sen. Angus King, who is conspired with Democrats, and DN.H. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, also voted to pass the bill.
