A conservative women's nonprofit organization says Yeti suddenly canceled the group's order and claimed that it did because the term “conservative” was mentioned in the design.
The official account of the Clare Boothe Luce Center for Consulative Women Center posted details about the incident on the X social media platform on Monday. The center is based in Herndon, Virginia.
“This is ridiculous. Yeti, do more.”
“I thought the cancellation culture would leave in 2024, but we're here,” the center said.
The organization said they had previously ordered mugs from the Yeti and simply needed to refill them. The group moved up the order and received confirmation from the company.
I then received an email saying that my order had been cancelled.
“We would like to sincerely apologise for cancelling your order. Yeti cannot customize our products using essential text or logos that are licensed, copyright, profanity or political,” the email said.
“If there is another logo within the guidelines you want to move forward, let me know,” the company added.
This was after Yeti reportedly accepted payment for the order.
“We spoke on the phone today with the Yeti sales manager and she said they couldn't provide us with a product because the phrase “conservative woman” is in the “political aisle.” I said.
The center said the organization is Officially 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization. In other words, it is designated as non-political.
“We are an education organization that works to help young women become strong and conservative leaders,” the center said. “Our organization offers many opportunities through our programs, including internships, national student summits, campus lectures, firearms training and more.”
“Last year I ordered the exact same product without any problems from Yeti,” the center said. “This is ridiculous. Yeti, do more.”
The Yeti previously faced many boycotts on the right when it cut ties with the National Rifle organization in 2018.
“It's certainly not sportsmanly. In fact, the Yeti should be embarrassing. They refused to help American youth enjoy outdoor recreational activities,” the NRA said at the time.
Blaze Media reached out to Yeti to comment on the claim, but the company did not respond immediately.
