EMILY’s List unveils House targets

Emily’s List, a political action committee that advocates for abortion rights, revealed on Wednesday its intention to assist House Republicans in their efforts to step down during the 2026 midterm elections.

“In 2026, it is crucial that we regain our majority in the US House to establish federal checks on Donald Trump and counter the GOP’s assault on our rights and well-being,” stated Jessica McCller, the organization’s president. statement.

“Pro-choice Democratic women are central to our quest for the majority by turning competitive seats across the country. House Republicans should be wary. We are coming for your seats,” the statement added.

The list includes 46 Republican lawmakers, which features Mike Lawler (NY), Nancy Mace (SC), Don Bacon (Nev.), Max Miller (OH), and Michael Baumgartner (WA).

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) recently released a list of 26 vulnerable seats to focus on for the midterms, including officials Jared Moskowitz (FL) and Derek Tran (CA).

“Republican lawmakers continue to support Trump’s agenda, and people across the nation are suffering,” McCller’s statement noted.

The Cook Political Report, a political analysis service, categorized 10 Democratic seats and eight Republican seats as ones to watch ahead of next year’s elections.

“Their majority is perilously slim, though Republicans are in a better position than they were in 2018. Trump’s recent win has become more pronounced.”
