American tourists dead at Belize Royal Kahal Beach Resort hotel cause of death

Reports say three young American women who died at Belize Beach Resort last month died from a “fatal exposure to carbon monoxide poisoning.”

Kaoutar Naqqad, 23; Iman Maller, 24; and Wafae El-Arar, 26, from Libya, Massachusetts – The body was found dead on February 22nd in a room at Royal Cahal Beach Resort in San Pedro.

The Daily Mail shows that toxicology reports from the National Forensic Services in Belize show that the girls had fluid accumulation in their lungs, known as acute pulmonary edema.

The report revealed that all American tourists were exposed to carbon monoxide prior to their death, with each registered carbon monoxide saturation of about 60%. The fatal level is 40%.

Police believe the girls may have been exposed to carbon monoxide from a broken water heater in their hotel rooms.
