President Donald Trump urged voters in Florida's 6th Congressional District to go out to Republican Randy Fine in a fierce and special House election with the candidate on Thursday to vote.
Trump urged those who called for support for the fine on Tuesday, or on Election Day.
“We're only a few days away from the very important special elections taking place in your state on Tuesday, April 1st. I'm asking you to go out and go to someone I know very well, Randy Fine,” Trump said.
“Early voting is ongoing and continues until this Saturday, so plan on voting tomorrow or Saturday or going on Election Day. The main thing is to go vote,” he added.
The president said the fine was “America's first champion” and he had been standing with him from the beginning. Trump said there were 14 Florida state lawmakers in support of him early in the 2024 presidential election.
“That's why Randy always has a very open door to an oval office. He's there whenever I need him. He wants to be there whenever I need him.
He added that he would vote to cut taxes if elected, fund border security agendas and protect Social Security and Medicare if elected.
Trump has accused Fine's Democratic opponent, Joshua Weil, of “a radical left-madman.” He said Weil supports transgender agendas, including “kid amputation,” and supports reparations.
“He wants to end all sanctions against communist Cuba and socialist Venezuela and decriminate heroin, fentanyl and cocaine. There's plenty of problem with drugs without doing that,” Trump said. “It was a disaster in places that were done everywhere.”
The fine said to the president: “I thanked him for his kind words and for showing him what he was in crisis about this election.
Early in the call, he emphasized that the race was to maintain the majority of Republican homes at the current level to enact the Trump agenda.
“I won't do this for myself like you, but that's what we're at stake in this election to ensure that America remains the greatest country in the world. Whether you're voting in Congress, you need to get the job done,” Fine said ahead of Trump's comments.
