A viral video showing students be-hits in middle school has infuriated parents and others at the lack of intervention from school employees.
Bedford Police Station Confirmed The school's resource officer responded to the fight around 8am Tuesday between two students at Harwood Middle School in Bedford, a city between Dallas and Fort Worth. Police said officers helped school staff separate students and take control of one student.
“The teachers were conspiring to allow that to happen.”
The fight video has been word-of-mouthed on social media. There, many people who appear to be teachers pointed out that they were merely trying to pull the invaders out of the boy hanging on the ground.
Police said in a statement that nurses at the school gave the beaten students a doctor's appointment and referred them to the juvenile centre.
Toby Givens, the school's principal, said With a letter The parents were told that the officer and nurse responded to the fight within 60 seconds of the start. He provided little other details.
“But I want to emphasize that the fight is a terrible and inappropriate behavior and that this type of incident is completely unacceptable,” the principal said. “The incident is taken very seriously, including a complete sequence of events using video and interviews, surrounding context, additional student and staff behavior, and an investigation of district processes related to student fights.”
The principal also apologised for not reaching out to him early.
Online commenters were angry at responses from school staff and other students.
- Read “It's really bothering to think that so many people will record beat bullets faster than stopping them. Many of us mistaken real life for what we see all day.” response.
- “This is what happens when discipline is thrown out the window and teachers act like babysitters in place of authority,” another commenter I answered.
- “The teachers were conspiring to allow it to happen and simply watching the attempted murder. The violent criminal would have murdered other students if no one had interfered in the end.” I said Another.
Police and the principal said an investigation into the situation of the battle was underway.
