Pete Buttigieg advises Dems to stop fantasizing about finding left’s Joe Rogan

Former U.S. Transport Secretary Pete Battigigue acknowledged this week that Democrats will not find a liberal version of podcast host Joe Rogan, and that efforts to regain cultural relevance should include connections with ordinary voters.

Former Biden official said on FridayWeekly shows with the John Stewart Podcast.“Buttigieg discussed how Democrats could convey their message to voters following the losses in the 2024 presidential election.

“My party is arms around who our Joe Rogan is. We're not going to have a Joe Rogan on the left. That's not how it works,” he said.

Stewart agreed to the statement and offered his view that the party cannot freely produce a top global podcast that amplifies free thinking.

“It's not something you can recall that either. They're just thinking, 'Oh, let's build this thing inorganically.' These positions are built over time, gaining reliability, gaining reliability, gaining everything that cannot exist.

Buttigieg provided this rating of his fellow Democrats.

“The Joe Rogan Experience” is one of the most influential podcasts in the world, with a huge audience of male viewers. This is a demographic that was considered important to President Donald Trump's 2024 election victory.

“For the past two years, a series of highly popular podcasters and streamers have solidified as new mainstream sources for millions of young men, and according to a new Bloomberg analysis, they have used perches to bring these members together to support Trump and political rights.”

Trump's own interview with the podcast giant in the final week of his campaign attracted tens of millions of viewers. The conversations and Logan's ultimate support for Trump's candidacy were seen as Trump's bounty.

Even Democrats knew the importance of Logan's platform, looking to acquire former vice president Kamala Harris on his show before Election Day. Though these plans fell apart, the former Democratic presidential candidate appeared on other prominent podcasts like “Call Her Daddy” before the end of the race.

Despite the party's several desire to replicate Trump's success with Logan, Buttigeg told Stewart that he needs to focus on his own strategy of finding new voters, including entering a more conservative space.

“I think we're really struggling to find people where they are,” Battigeg said.

“I might be the 10th person who says about the same thing on a liberal show, and it's literally the first time someone has heard a particular idea whether I'm in a more conservative space,” he added.

“People who have other people—-do it!” Stewart said. “Yes,” Battigee replied.
